On September 22nd 1891 Hans Albers was born. He performs in more than 100 silent films before his roles as an adventurer and dandy in the sound films of the 40s and 3os make him famous. Although Albers does earn the highest salaries one hardly ever sees him around the Reich Film Chamber and the propaganda minister. Albers avoids having contact with the Nazi Party. He lives with his Jewish wife Hansi in a castle on Lake Starnberg, far away from Berlin. In 1938 his wife must go into British exile. The political pressure increases on Albers. After the war, the Hamburg native performs again on stage and becomes the epitome of the peoples actor in the postwar cinema of West Germany. '
